Simply Rob is a portrait of New York based Latino poet and activist Rob Vassilarakis. Rob was kicked out of home was he was just 17 after his mother discovered he was gay. In 1993 he was diagnosed HIV positive. This led to many years of substance abuse leaving Rob homeless on the streets of New York City

 

Filmed during World Aids Day 2010 the film follows Rob as he tells his turbulent life story through poetry - coming to terms with his sexuality and life with HIV.
