So I've bitten the bullet and gone and bought myself a new camera. After testing out the FS100, F3 and C300 I'd decided on the latter. I'm not going to go into detail about spec comparisons and whether or not the camera can do a million frames per second at 4k resolution. Just let me tell you this, the HD image's this camera produces are stunning and that's what counts. The rest is down to the filmmaker.

This week Simply Rob will have it's Australian premiere at the 6th Byron Bay International Film Festival. Having been to Byron Bay once in my late teens it's an honour to now have a film screening at their wonderful Film Festival. Unfortunately I won't be attending due to my schedule but I look forward to hearing how the film is recieved.

Other screenings this month include a showing at the Firehouse Cinema in Richmond Virginia. The film will be accompanying Days Gone By, a debut feature from director John Zhao.

Well it's been a very cold but very busy month. I've just finished a new TV campaign for Dunlop's golfing collection featuring champion golfers Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood. Shot in a tiny pub in Epsom the advert demonstrates their golfing skills to humorous effect. They'll be on air sometime in April and on my website soon after.

Belated Happy New Year folks!

With 2011 well and truly behind us it is now time to throw ourselves headlong into the year ahead.

This year has already got off to a good start with a TV commercial for Dunlop shooting this week and a screening of Simply Rob at the London Short Film Festival on the 14th of Jan. Described by the Guardian as 'the best short film festival in world' the festival will be screening some of the best short films to watch out for in 2012, including mine! I look forward to seeing you there.

This month I've been working for theatre trailer production company DustHouse. Pioneers of the cinematic theatre trailer they've had their work screened on TV, online and in cinemas for clients such as the RSC, The Royal Opera House and the Bristol Old Vic.

So I'm finally back on UK soil after my trip to San Francisco to visit the 2011 Doc Fest. What a city! From the dramtic landscape to the diverse people (not to mention the incredible food), San Francisco is a place that's definitely worth a visit. Check out my blog soon for a selection of photographs.

The screenings were great with Simply Rob showing alongside a powerful, if not a little intense, line up of films under the title A Matter Of Body And Mind.
